2007 Parade

In 1978 The Honorable Mayor Jimmy O’Lynch proposed that Wenatchee honor the contributions of the Irish to North Central Washington. The parade that Mayor Jim Lynch (his real name) envisioned began in 1979 and was in the Guinness Book of World Records as the ‘shortest, biggest parade’ in the world. For many years, parade participants and viewers celebrated the Irish on Orondo Street between Mission Street and Wenatchee Avenue.

This year, with the support of local businesses it is being revitalized.
Thanks to the efforts of volunteer organizers this serious celebration of the Irish will once again give Wenatchee residents and visitors a reason to look forward to the coming of Spring and all things green.
